The Argentine Business 20, will be led by Daniel Funes of Rioja, Chair designated by the Argentine government, and Co-chairs will be a group of six business chambers – ADEBA, BCBA, CACS, CAMARCO, SRA and UIA. There will be two B20 Sherpas, Carolina Castro (Executive Sherpa) and Fernando Landa (Policy Sherpa).
The Business 20 is a Business Forum that is constituted as an affinity group within the framework of the G20 countries summit, its presidency will be assumed by Argentina in December. This major milestone, presents the country with an unprecedented challenge and an excellent opportunity. The goal of the B20 is to reach consensus on policy recommendations to elevate the government officials meeting at the G20 Summit .
Since April 2017, when the B20 Germany Summit was held in Berlin, the local B20, in Argentina has been carrying out a series of activities “en route to the G20 Argentina“. During September, the B20 Chair will speak on a panel at the WTO Open Forum in Geneva. Likewise, in an activity in the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development), co-organized with the BIAC (Business and Industry Advisory Committee) in Paris, both the Chair and the Sherpas will make a presentation on “Road to B20 Argentina” together with the team of B20 Germany. At the time of these events, the Argentine team will hold working meetings to articulate the transfer of the presidency with the German peers in Berlin.
With the objective of making a broad call to the national business to participate actively in this process, on November 2, in the city of Rosario, the seminar “Camino al B20 Argentina” will be held. Also participating in this activity will be Argentine government officials, with the aim of introducing the methodology that will be carried out in this process.
