It is great sadness that we heard about the passing of Mr Carlos Eduardo Abijaodi, CNI’s Director of Industrial Development and Economics and GBC Principal. Mr Abijoadi died on  April 19, at the of 75, due to Covid-19 complications.

Director of CNI since November 2010, he performed his duties with competence, leadership and cordiality. He reactivated the debate on trade openness and free trade within the Brazilian industry. He was also an active presence in the debates of the Mercosur-European Union agreement, in the WTO Trade Facilitation agreement and in the creation of the Single Window Portal in Brazil.

He was actively engaged in international fora, such as the Global Business Coalition, the B20 and the Business at OECD, always aiming to advocate for the interests of the Brazilian industry. His trajectory is marked by the tireless defence of public policies for the international insertion of the Brazilian industry and services.

Mr Carlos Eduardo Abijaodi will be truly missed by his colleagues @ CNI and all the GBC members who appreciated to work with him.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues.
