CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan attended the 12th World Conference of Trade Promotion Organizations in Paris on October 25 where she delivered a keynote speech.

The World Conference of Trade Promotion Organizations is a biennial event hosted by UN International Trade Center (ITC). This year’s conference was co-hosted by ITC and Business France with the participation of over 300 representatives from 85 countries and regions who had discussions on the topic of “Trade and Investment Ecosystem: Realizing Growth”.

Gao Yan made a keynote speech at the “Supporting the Ecosystem of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship”-themed plenary session. She pointed out that as unilateralism and protectionism are rising, impacting the multilateral trade system, the global economy is becoming increasingly unstable and uncertain. Facing the new situation, she suggested, trade facilitation organizations should work together to promote international exchange and cooperation in innovation and the development of open economy for win-win results and enhance “Belt and Road” cooperation through coordination and interaction.

Gao also noted that CCPIT is willing to share experience and expand cooperation with relevant international organizations and trade facilitation organizations to construct a well-developed trade and investment ecosystem so as to contribute to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the robust, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth of global economy.
